The capital tour and dinner was great. The hotel was under major repair, no food service, no breakfast of any kind, no ice , noise and really not very close to where we needed to be. The bus trips were often not air conditioned. Our room was large and nice. The fact that our pastor had to make so many arrangements for food,, and calls for better bus management was unfortunate .

Statement Regarding the Washington, D.C. Group Program GOMEGA Travel was asked to assist with this Washington, D.C. program after the group's original travel provider became unavailable late in the planning process. By the time GOMEGA became involved, the trip concept had already been established, participants had been informed, and the church was operating under a compressed timeline. The program was originally developed in coordination with Pastor Steve Holston, who served as the primary decision-maker during the planning process. GOMEGA Travel was given strict budget parameters of $2,000 per person, along with a request for complimentary leader spaces. Within those constraints, GOMEGA Travel developed multiple proposals for a fully escorted program including airfare, hotels, transportation, meals, guides, and related services. These options exceeded the approved budget and were reduced through several revisions to meet financial requirements, resulting in the removal or modification of services commonly included in GOMEGA Travel’s standard group programs. Regarding hotel selection, GOMEGA Travel initially proposed properties aligned with its standard quality and sourcing practices; however, those options exceeded budget limits. The hotel ultimately used had originally been identified in prior discussions between Pastor Holston and a previous travel provider and was selected solely because it met the group’s financial constraints. This property was not part of GOMEGA Travel’s standard hotel sourcing portfolio and was not a preferred recommendation. The final contracted package included round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation between Waco and DFW Airport, airport transfers in Washington, D.C., and limited motorcoach service for scheduled touring. Meals, full-time guides, upgraded accommodations, and other turnkey services were not included in the final agreed-upon package and were removed to meet budget requirements. Leadership involvement is also documented. On January 30, 2026, GOMEGA Travel distributed the final scope of services, itinerary details, budget considerations, and program limitations via email to Pastor Holston, Pastor Nick Matthews, and Pastor Blossom Matthews. These communications clearly outlined what was included and excluded after all cost-driven revisions. As a result, the leaders who ultimately led the group had access to the same scope documentation relied upon by GOMEGA Travel. In addition, the full itinerary, inclusions, exclusions, and program details were provided to participants through the registration website and supporting marketing materials prior to and during enrollment. Travelers had access to clear disclosures regarding what was and was not included in the program. Following the leadership transition after Pastor Holston’s departure, GOMEGA Travel also proactively engaged the incoming leaders and provided full program documentation to ensure continuity and transparency. The services delivered were consistent with the itinerary, registration materials, proposals, and communications provided throughout the planning process. The concerns raised appear to stem from a disconnect between participant expectations and the scope of services that were communicated, documented, approved, and funded. GOMEGA Travel cannot be responsible for assumptions regarding services that were never included in the final package. Our responsibility was to deliver the program that was contracted, documented, and purchased, and we fulfilled that obligation. GOMEGA Travel stands behind the services delivered and the extensive efforts made to accommodate the group’s budget, timeline, and leadership transition. The record clearly reflects that the program delivered was the program that was communicated, documented, approved, funded, purchased, and provided.

How do I rate a premium priced trip that ended up being a super low budget trip? 1 star is being generous. What a huge disappointment! Starting with the bus ride from Waco to DFW: It was extremely hot until the driver finally figured out how to change the ac from 80 to a more comfortable temp. No one from Gomega asked for our TSA numbers or our United Mileage Plus numbers before the trip. As for the flights to & from DC, we were relegated to the very back of the plane in the cheap seats. The bus from the airport to our hotel: Totally unacceptable! Would you put your family on a bus with NO ac for an hour long ride in the summer? Well, you put our tour group on one! Why in the world would we fly into the airport furtherest from DC? Who checked out the Beacon hotel & decided it qualified as “First Class”? We have never stayed in a hotel with NO amenities! NO soap by the sink. We had to get the body wash from the tub. When we requested a bar of soap, surprise, they were out! One tiny elevator shared with the construction crew & their equipment. NO restaurant! NO ice machines! NO ice from the manager if you weren’t in the first group to go downstairs & ask for some. NO water one afternoon. Lots of banging & construction noise. A bed with a mattress that should’ve been replaced—one side was straight downhill. Temperamental ac in the room. An oval commode with a round lid which left a huge gap. Not pleasant! Not First Class! Why did we pay premium prices for this? We have traveled extensively & have never had a hotel stay like this! Would you like to get on a bus that is so covered with mud you cannot even see out the window on the LONG drive to the national mall? We had that disappointing experience. We feel like we should be compensated for all of the inconveniences on this very short & disappointing trip. We expected a whole lot more from our Gomega experience. Donnie & Paula McGuffin

As I’ve reflected on our Capitol Reflections tour to Washington DC, I have the following conclusions: -Group from First Methodist was easy to travel and were knowledgeable on traveling. -Tours to The White House and the U.S. Capitol that were planned by our Congressman Pete Sessions and his aide Chuck Beach were top notch and truly once in a lifetime opportunities. -Meal at the Capitol Hill Club was splendid and delicious. -Congressional clearance to go to the White House, The Capitol and into the actual Congress truly were once in a lifetime experiences. -Tours and sight-seeing planned by group members were amazing and very interesting. -Restaurants that we chose and that were recommended to us were great and added to our trip. None of these things were associated with GoMega. These things that were associated with GoMega truly were disappointing and unacceptable from a professional travel agency. -Buses didn’t have functioning AC. Waco to DFW, Dulles to Beacon Hotel. -Bus to and from the White House and Capitol had filthy windows making sightseeing impossible. -Seating on the plane was haphazard and people traveling together weren’t seated together. This included several married couples. Some couples paid $175 for an upgrade so that they could be seated together on the return flight. -Flown to and from Dulles Airport instead of Reagan International, causing a 50 minute drive to the hotel in traffic which caused the drive to be longer with no air conditioning. -Beacon Hotel located very far from the Capitol, White House and other sites. This caused the use of Uber or cabs to be a necessity and unexpected expense. I paid $ 127.77 in Uber/Cab fares alone. -Beacon Hotel was under renovation and had no amenities. i.e. air conditioning malfunctioned and required box fans, no onsite restaurant or bar, no lobby, no elevator for guests only, elevator shared with construction workers, no continental breakfast. -Water at Beacon was off from 10-3 on June 4th. No compensation or solution was offered by the staff. -Hotel construction started promptly at 6:30 am and continued throughout the day and evening. -No closet or drawers available in the room to unpack suitcases. -Hotel bathrooms had no soap, shampoo or personal care products available. -Limited food choices available near the hotel which cost time and money just to be able to eat. Should not have been booked at this hotel since it has been under renovation for several months. A simple search of Trip Advisor would have offered this information. -Paid for 3 breakfasts that should have been included at a hotel of that status. I’ve read the reviews that my fellow travelers have written and there is one theme in all of them. WE WERE TERRIBLY NEGLECTED BY GoMEGA! We were overcharged for our tips to the drivers by $224. I can only assume that we overpaid for the flight. We paid for a 3 to 4 Star hotel and received amenities of a 1 Star hotel at best. The following paragraph is from the GoMega website: "GOMEGA Travel & Tours is a full-service travel company specializing in crafting exceptional travel experiences for discerning travelers. Since 1994, we have been helping individuals and groups explore the world’s most captivating destinations, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable journey from start to finish." They did create an unforgettable journey from start to finish, but not in the way that they purport. I expect a refund for the gross discrepancy in the lodging accommodations and for the expense of the Uber/Cab fares. Jennifer Peasley

I enjoyed the sights that I choose to see, but several of the buses we traveled in the AC was not working very well and it was in the 90’s there. And the hotel left a lot to be desired. I saw 2 very large rats NOT mice. The water was turned off the 1st full day we were there from 10:00 am till 3:00. They only had one ice machine and 2 of the evenings they were out of ice. The 1st room they put in the AC didn’t work and I was no way the only one that happen to. So over all I was not impressed with what Gomega provided with what it cost me

I wish to express our disappointment on the vacation we booked with GoMega Travel Agency. We saved over six months to make this trip a fill our bucket list, and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The trip to DFW airport and our hotel was miserable with heat and was nauseating. After arriving at our hotel The Beacon our concerns became deeper. The hotel was under construction and you could see a hole in the wall 2x2 inch’s. The electrical outlets did not work except for 2. Hot water was out of order. The refrigerator was also out of order. We found the room to be in poor condition and found concerns of cleanliness, maintenance problems, damaged furniture. We requested king bed, and got to 2 queen beds instead of King. No ice was not available our entire stay. Also no public restroom in the lobby of the hotel. There was there was no restaurant or bar at the hotel due to construction that woke us up each morning around seven around 7 AM. We expected accommodations to be above standard, but another disappointment horrible conditions of our room. The front desk was in a small area surrounded by curtains. There were no vending machines available but you could buy snacks which were way over priced at the front desk, for example, chips, six dollars for small bag Cheez-Its a 2 oz.pkg. six dollars small bag candy bar six dollars. Overall, this was a very dis. appointing trip that we had waited so long for and hotel accommodations ruined a great deal of our time with worry. Maintenance was called to make the air conditioner work and set to a lower temperature, when arriving it was 80° in the room. Unacceptable. These issues affected our comfort and enjoyment during a trip that that was supposed to be a memorable trip with wonderful people. We expected better accommodations on this trip and was very disappointed. We understand that problems can occur, but the overall condition of the hotel was unacceptable. We believe it is important that you be aware of these concerns so future guest do not encounter these same issues. Our location was not a comfortable walk as we were promised. Airport; our trip from Dallas to Washington DC on United Airlines my husband and I were separated by three rows and we’re unable to change seats. I was the last row on the plane. We paid $88 per person to upgrade our ticket home from DC to Dallas to be able to sit together. It appears that no research had been done on accommodations at our Nations capital. As we were told by your representative that you book more overseas trips and it clearly shows no research was done for this trip. Therefore, we would not be a candidate to recommend your company for anyone in the United States. I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear GoMega Travel and Tours, Rating: 2 Stars I am writing to provide feedback regarding several issues encountered during our recent trip. I was unable to get our computer to let us access the travel feedback form. Please add this information to the other reviews so that others can view our review. Travel Issues: The air conditioning on the bus from Waco First Methodist to DFW Airport was not working until we arrived in Dallas The air conditioning on a second bus from Dulles airport to the Beacon Hotel was also not working Seat assignments on United Airlines were not given any thought. Spouses and/or families often were not assigned together, and/or were often several rows apart. Arriving at Dulles instead of Reagan added additional travel time for guests and hotel accommodations were not close to the White House or Capitol, which meant guests had additional Uber or Metro charges. There was no local travel agent locally to address issues that arose, which put additional responsibility on Rev. Nick Matthews and Rev. Blossom Matthews Hotel Issues: The Beacon Hotel was having major renovations done, There was a make-shift desk that served as a lobby. There were no food options, such as a restaurant or bar area. Limited snacks were available at the front desk, and they were very expensive. There was not an elevator dedicated to guests only, so sometimes we had to ride elevators with contractors and workers with their tools. Some rooms had no air conditioning; some had to sleep with box fans in the room; some had to change room assignments. There was no functioning ice machine for guests to use. We were offered ice the first night, but it was not available at any other time. There were not an adequate number of plugs in the guest rooms to charge items, or the plugs that were there were not working. On our first full day at the hotel, no water was available from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Some rooms did not have bar soap or shampoo and shower gel available when we arrived No restrooms were available in the hotel other than in guest rooms Renovations began about 6:30 a.m. every morning, which made relaxing or sleeping very difficult because of the noise. There were only two small drawers in the rooms. Some refrigerators were not working. Some rooms had open holes where air vents had not been replaced; some guests noticed rust around the shower; smart lights in the bathrooms worked inconsistently, and some rooms did not have any hot water. Extra time had to be allocated to go someplace to eat since there was no option at the hotel. What was provided to guests versus the amount of money we had to pay was unacceptable. We should have been moved to another hotel, and we would expect some type of credit or refund for these inconveniences. Additional Comments: The tours arranged by Pete Sessions and Chuck Beach were excellent and the meal we had at the Capitol Hill Club was delicious. Tours arranged on Friday, June 5th were very well planned and enjoyed by all. I hope you will take this feedback into account to improve future travel arrangements. Best regards, Jina Becker and Larry Becker
